The Service
Information Services operates throughout Northumberland and is responsible proving IT Support to all council staff across Northumberland. The successful apprentice will work alongside experienced staff undertaking a range of IT related duties, including answering the calls on the IT Helpdesk, Remote Assistance and IT Techbar days

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Information Services for an apprentice. Although applicants do not need to have any prior experience, they must be willing to undertake duties to gain experience in IT supported with offsite training.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Highways Maintenance operates strictly within the requirements of health and safety legislation

This opportunity provides experience to work whilst you learn and develop key skills that will be valuable throughout your career. Your responsibilities as an Apprentice include:

Providing a helpful and positive attitude

Following IT Security guidelines and procedures

Respecting the confidential nature of council matters

Be responsible for onsite Health and Safety at all times

Our Apprenticeships are structured training programmes which give you the opportunity to gain on the job experience whilst working towards a recognised apprenticeship standard. They help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in your chosen industry. Getting into employment earlier means there's lots of potential for you to progress in your career quickly.

Essential requirements:
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/c or equivalent)

Must be willing to attend off site apprenticeship training with QA (all travel costs are reimbursed)
