Newcastle City Council is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and skilled Resource Worker to organize, monitor and deliver foster carer training to our growing foster caring community.
This role requires knowledge and experience of Fostering and training as the training officer will be required to work alongside Foster Carers, Connected Carers, social workers, external training providers and IT to ensure carers have access to online as well as face to face training.
The trainer is responsible for developing and implementing the Foster Carers’ annual Learning and Development Schedule or ‘training calendar’. Excellent communication and engagement skills are needed as part of this role will be to monitor foster carer training attendance and take up.
Our foster carers often care for children with very complex health, emotional and behavioural needs and an understanding of these areas and the challenges carers may encounter will be important to the role.
