The Service

Our team provides the Council’s first point of contact for customers accessing services. We support service delivery across all Council functions except Adults and Children's Social Care. We operate from the contact centre at Cramlington (telephony/web/social/ media) and from 9 Information Centre's across the County for our face to face provision.

The team also support the Local Authorities Test and Trace programme set up in response to the recent COVID pandemic making outbound calls to residents who have tested positive for COVID 19 capturing their contacts and ensuring they have the necessary support in pace during periods of isolation.

We want to resolve as many enquiries as possible at first contact and provide effective access to services. We work closely with services to ensure that we provide the most up to date information and can inform customers what they can expect from us.

The Role

We are looking for positive, enthusiastic, flexible, resilient individuals who can use their initiative and are passionate about helping others to fill this demanding but rewarding role.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the Local Authority ’s Test and Trace programme and in providing surge capacity in the event of an increase is COVID Cases within Northumberland. The Test and Trace Service is operational 7 days per week.

• Temporary Position until 31st March 2022
• Full time and Part Time hours will be considered
• A starting salary of £20,092 - £21,748
