We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work as part of Newcastle City Council Licensing Authority to undertake a wide range of licensing functions including compliance and enforcement and also developing the delivery of a busy service supporting the community and local businesses.

This is an exciting time to join the team with the as we address the challenges and support the redevelopment of the licensed trade as part of our day and night-time economies. We are also in the process of consulting upon new taxi and private hire licensing policies, migrating a service to a new facility and making advancements with new digital processes.

The team deal with a wide range of licensing issues including premises, gambling and personal licensing, taxi and private hire licensing, street trading, charitable collections, scrap metal licensing and a number of other ancillary licensable activities.

It is essential to have a good understanding of the regulatory framework, guidance and good practice in relation to all licensing functions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required with proven ability to deliver services.
