This is an exciting time to join the Art team at Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums, to work on a high-profile exhibition featuring the Lindisfarne Gospels, which will open at the Laing Art Gallery in September 2022. The exhibition will explore the significance of the Gospels to 21st century society. It will look at ways in which the Gospels can bring people together with a sense of pride in the region and inspire thinking around personal, regional and national identity. Broader themes will examine the spiritual and personal significance of objects and artworks within a historical and contemporary context.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Keeper of Art to work with our Keeper of Art, Exhibition Officer and Learning Officers to provide curatorial support for this innovative exhibition and wider engagement programme. The post will be based at the Laing Art Gallery.

We are seeking an enthusiastic curator with a thirst for a varied, challenging and busy working environment. This is an ideal opportunity to develop skills to become an experienced, flexible and multi-skilled art curator.
