Newcastle City Council are currently looking to recruit 2 enthusiastic and dynamic Team Managers to join our Foster a Future Fostering Service.

As part of the Fostering Management Team, the successful applicant will be expected to supervise and oversee busy teams with the objective of providing an effective, high quality service to foster carers, connected carers, children and partners.
The service has recently experienced a period of growth including the development of our family and friends/SGO service. One of the vacancies available is in this team and the other is in one of our 2 support teams.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate impeccable knowledge of Fostering Minimum Standards, effective Risk Management and Fostering and Care Planning Regulations. Knowledge and skills is staff management in a social work setting is highly desirable although applications would be welcomed from fostering senior practitioners and practice teachers who are interested in career progression.
Our Fostering Team Managers have a key role in supporting the Registered Manager and Service Manager in the continuous development of the service and as such, are given responsibility for the specialist areas and the delivery of key service targets and objectives. As part of their induction, new managers will be supported by an experienced manager and will be provided with relevant support and training in local procedures and systems.

To apply for this post, you must have a relevant social work qualification, such as Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, and current Social Work England registration. A relevant management qualification or a commitment to work towards one is essential.
