The Role:
Northumberland County Council are looking to appoint a Senior Capital Project Manager to support the Capital Programme Manager in the provision of leadership, management and advice with regards to a range of multimillion pound education capital projects that will have a real impact within local communities.

You will be required to act as a client-side project manager for the management of major capital projects on behalf of Northumberland County Council to achieve project time, cost and quality objectives. You will provide the interface between the project delivery team and the Council taking a strategic view focussed on ensuring the project delivers the expected outcome and benefits to the organisation, end-users, and stakeholders.

Previous experience of being part of a team delivering complex, high-value programmes and understanding good project management principles is more important than specific experience in the construction industry. You will have the ability to influence and manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects to programme and within budget.

This post will be based at County Hall, Morpeth but will require travel throughout Northumberland. The organisation is currently assessing “hybrid working” options for all departments, which will lead to an appropriate balance of remote/office based working.
