An opportunity exists for a suitable individual to work within the Facility Services Division of the Operations and Regulatory Services Directorate as an Assistant Chef at Welford Day Centre.

Working a 2-week working shift pattern includes covering for the Chef on their days off. It is essential that you have a flexible approach. Welford Day Centre is the base kitchen however on occasions and to suit the needs of the service, you may be required to work at alternative locations from time to time.

Typical duties within this post will be to assist the chef to provide a high-quality catering service to the client by assisting the Chef to organise, prepare and serve meals in accordance with the Caroline Walker Trust Standards and the City Council Customer Service Charter.

To assist in the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, strict adherence to the provisions of the Health and Safety Legislation and Food Hygiene Regulations and maintaining all associated records

It is essential you hold an NVQ level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking or equivalent qualification. You must have a minimum 3 years’ experience within a catering environment. It is essential that you can work flexible hours and capable of good relationships with others.

The Interview process may include a practical skills test.
