The Service
Northumberland County Council are looking for a skilled individual to assist in the delivery of our IT Support Desk, working within the systems support team. This team supports a plethora of applications across all aspects of the council
The role
This position will be predominantly working within the IT Service desk, dealing with customer enquiries. Applicants should have experience within the IT sector in a service desk environment. The job involves working with multiple stakeholders across many sites and excellent customer service and communication skills are required. The successful candidate will join an established team within authority

Essential requirements:
A technical qualification or evidence of competency in IT
Actively undertaking on-going continuous professional and personal development
Has a good appreciation of the wider field of information systems, their use in relevant employment areas and how they relate to the business activities of the employer or client.
Maintains an awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes some responsibility for personal development.
Rapidly absorbs new technical information and applies it effectively.
Proactive and achievement orientated
Demonstrates an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
Takes the initiative in identifying and negotiating appropriate development opportunities.

Helps to resolve problems (e.g. poor performance) and faults (e.g. system failure), occurring in the operation of hardware and software – especially those requiring greater expertise
