The Service
Northumberland County Council are looking for a skilled individual to assist in the delivery of our IT Support Desk, working within the systems support team.

The Role
This position will be predominantly working within the IT Service desk, dealing with customer enquiries and resolving software related issues. Applicants should have experience within the IT sector preferably with some of that time spent in a service desk environment installing software for customers. The job involves working with multiple stakeholders across many sites and good customer service and communication skills are required. The successful candidate will join an established team within authority and will have access to colleagues who can assist where necessary. This position is mainly home based, but you may be required to come into the office one day per week.

Essential requirements:
A technical qualification or evidence of competency in IT
Ability to absorb new technical information and apply it effectively
A general standard of literacy and numeracy
Actively undertaking ongoing continuous professional and personal development.
Competence in using Microsoft Office
An active desire to provide effective customer centred services.
Very effective IT skills and ability to understand and develop the use of IT to achieve work objectives.
Numerate and able to analyse business related statistics.
Ability to work methodically and systematically.
Adopts a collaborative approach to work.
Ability to absorb technical information, when it is presented systematically and apply it effectively
Works under routine supervision. Uses minor discretion in resolving problems or enquiries.
Works without frequent reference to others.
Has sufficient communication skills for effective dialogue with colleagues.
Ability to work in a team.
Ability to plan, schedule and monitor own work, within short time horizons.
