The Service

Northumberland Communities Together (NCT) operates throughout Northumberland and is responsible for providing support to residents through a network of Community Hubs and satellite facilities.

The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Northumberland Communities Together as an apprentice to embark on an exciting career pathway in Catering & Hospitality. The successful apprentice will work alongside experienced staff undertaking a range of duties as part of a team, to ensure high quality provision of catering services in a range of County Council or other contracted establishments. Although applicants do not need to have any prior experience, they must be willing to undertake duties to gain experience in Catering and Hospitality, which is supported with offsite training.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide good customer service is essential for the post. Northumberland Communities Together operates strictly within the requirements of health and safety legislation

This opportunity provides experience to work whilst you learn and develop key skills that will be valuable throughout your career. Your responsibilities as an Apprentice include:

Dealing with customers including taking customer orders and payments

Ensure thorough and up to date knowledge and understanding of menu and special offers in order to provide relevant information to customers and clients

Preparing and serving food and beverages.

Simple cooking tasks such as the reconstitution of prepared food.

Packaging and transportation of meals to other locations where appropriate.

Assisting with special events as required.

Assisting with the daily and periodic clearing of the work areas and equipment

Essential requirements:
GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/c or equivalent)
Must be willing to attend off site apprenticeship training (all travel costs are reimbursed)
