Retrofit Assessor

Northumberland County Council declared a Climate Emergency in 2019. Since then, we have been busy identifying and delivering projects that attract investment to the county, create new jobs for the green economy and reduce our carbon footprint.
What have we done so far?
We have given away more than 30,000 trees to residents and community groups, extended our Electrical Vehicle charging network, started to decarbonise our council owned fleet, install heat pumps across our estate, carried out energy improvement measures to our housing stock and launched the Great Northumberland Forest!
We have set out details of the projects we need to deliver in the next two years and a route to achieving net zero by 2030 in our most recent Climate Change Action Plan (www.northumberland.gov.uk/climateactionplan).
Delivering Sustainable Homes
We are seeking people to help with one of Northumberland's main challenges to reaching net-zero, domestic heating, and energy. To deliver our climate plan we now need to recruit a project delivery team that will help Northumberland's residents to; insulate, heat, and power their homes, with existing and emerging green technologies.
This team will work directly with residents and suppliers to design and deliver changes that will make a real difference at the front line of climate change, while also bringing direct benefits to local people by providing warmer homes and reducing fuel poverty.
We are looking for people who are great communicators and passionate about delivering net zero but are also detail focused and realistic about the challenges on the route to Net-Zero.
While an already PAS2035 qualified applicant would be ideal, the council welcomes applications from engaged, knowledgeable and focused individuals and can support the achievement of qualifications where necessary.
More details can be found in the attached job description and if you would like more information, please email
climate@northumberland.gov.uk
for an informal discussion.

- Automatic enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme
- Flexi scheme applicable to majority of roles
- Local government discount schemes available to all employees with offers at local businesses along with various national brands
