Northumberland County Council is a progressive Local Authority supported by an experienced and talented Legal Services team with high standards in the provision of timely, accurate and quality legal advice. The team is seeking to expand and reshape owing to a restructure of the service and internal progression, and as a consequence we have a requirement for qualified Lawyers or Legal Executives to provide additional support to the Legal Services team.

The Role

We are seeking to recruit experienced and knowledgeable Lawyers/Fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives in the following areas:-
-Governance and Property,
-Contracts and Procurement,
-Planning and Highways
-Child Safeguarding,

A qualified solicitor or barrister (or about to qualify) or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives holding a current practising certificate, you will bring plenty of in-depth knowledge of your specialised area and be able to advise and communicate with in-house clients and colleagues.

You will have an eye for detail and good organisational skills, which will enable you to carry a substantial workload. Flexible and innovative in your approach, you will help us to positively develop new areas of practice.

- A starting salary of £33, 486 for a newly qualified lawyer or FILEX, or £38,553 for 1 year PQE, with a top of the band £42,614.
