What is a Business Administration Apprenticeship?

This is your one-of-a-kind opportunity to enter the world of business administration as an apprentice in one of the most diverse, exciting, and biggest employers in Northumberland. The apprenticeship:
To ensure you are fully supported you will be given all the training you need for the role, consisting of four days on the job training with your experienced and supportive team and one day per week with Northumberland Skills, the training provider. The role will start in September 2022 and will help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to succeed.



What does the team and the day to day look like:

The HR/OD Service is made-up of an exciting and dynamic team of HR, Organisational Development and Recruitment and Selection Professionals. We are looking to expand the service with an apprentice. You will be supported to:

-Assist colleagues and residents of Northumberland in person, via telephone or email to provide a friendly and high-quality level of service.

-Connect people with what they need

-Help customers to help themselves

-Provide general administrative tasks such as processing information, creation and collating of documents.

-Collaborate and suggest ideas for new and exciting projects across HR/OD such as training materials via our Learning Together suite.

-Send and receive emails, accept and make telephone calls, deal with internal and external customers, answer straight forward queries

About you:
-Like to work in a team but also be able to work on your own when given specific tasks

-Detail focused - with an enquiring mind, you like to get involved in the nitty gritty

-Enjoy using IT systems (excel, word, PowerPoint) and working with computers

-Be kind and courteous when dealing with colleagues and with customers and residents of Northumberland

-Strong organisation skills and good time management skills

-Enthusiastic and reliable

What you need:
-GCSE Maths and English Grade 4/C or above (or predicted) or Level 2 Functional skills.

-Dedication and commitment to complete your apprenticeship over 18 months.
