What is a Business Administration Apprenticeship

The Team
Making a difference to peoples lives the Residential and Family Placement Service supports the Residential Children’s homes, Fostering Team, Permanence Team and Kinship Assessment and Support Team (KAST). The successful apprentice will work alongside experienced staff undertaking a wide range of administrative duties which are essential for our Service.
The apprenticeship:
To ensure you are fully supported you will be given all the training you need for the role, consisting of four days on the job training with your experienced and supportive team and one day per week with Northumberland Skills, the training provider. The role will start in October 2022 and will help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to succeed.
What does the day to day look like:
-Providing essential day to day administrative support to the Residential and Family Placement Service.
-Liaise with social workers, residential care staff from the children’s homes, foster carers, as well as other internal / external customers, via telephone or email to provide a friendly and high-quality level of service.
-Book accommodation and travel when required.
-Provide general administrative tasks such as processing information, creation and collating of documents.
-Maintain information systems such as filing, uploading and extraction of data
-Gather and enter data into spreadsheets, databases and other electronic information systems
About you:
-Like to work in a team but also be able to work on your own when given specific tasks
-Detail focused - with an enquiring mind, you like to get involved in the nitty gritty
-Enjoy using IT systems (excel, word, PowerPoint) and working with computers
-Be kind and courteous when dealing with colleagues and with customers and residents of Northumberland
-Strong organisation skills and good time management skills
-Enthusiastic and reliable

What you need:
-GCSE Maths and English Grade 4/C or above (or predicted) or Level 2 Functional skills.
-Dedication and commitment to complete your apprenticeship over 18 months.
