The Service
Sure Start Children’s Centres are part of the Early Intervention and Prevention, Wellbeing and Community Health Services Group. Sure Start helps children to learn new skills and support their social and emotional development as well as support families’ health and wellbeing. Some Sure Start children’s centres provide a nursery or daycare provision providing additional services to further support children’s Early Years.
The programme aims to ensure children in disadvantaged areas are given the best start in life and equal opportunity to early learning and childcare. Within the North Locality, Berwick Cubs & Kits and Hadston Cubs and Kits are the 2 Children’s Centres offering this provision.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cubs & Kits Team for a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprentice. Although applicants do not need to have any prior experience, they must be willing to undertake duties and training to gain experience in all aspects of children’s learning and education. All responsibilities will be supported with offsite apprenticeship training. We would welcome someone who enjoys being around children with an interest in child development. This role will also provide support to the current Early Years Worker team within each centre and the wider management team.
The primary role of an early years educator apprentice is to learn through apprentice training to deliver high quality childcare whilst working to Early Years Foundation Stage standards for children’s learning and development. They will ensure children are kept safe at all times, observe children’s progress and keep records to share with parents. We would welcome applicants with imagination and creativity, patience and enthusiasm with a caring nature and a willingness to work as part of our team.
Although applicants do not need to have any prior experience, they must be willing to undertake duties and training to gain experience in Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship, all responsibilities will be supported with offsite apprenticeship training.
