The post is for an Occupational Therapy Team Manager to cover our Short-Term Support Service Countywide. STSS provides reablement to people in Northumberland following a serious accident or illness to help them regain their ability to carry out a range of day-to-day tasks. The service includes therapists and reablement workers.

The work is varied with involvement in everything from equipment provision through to providing rehabilitation programmes at home.

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who can Lead the team to maintain their high standard of work across such varied involvement. The post holder will need to have a wide range of experience as well as proven experience of supervising staff in their day-to-day work.

Informal and formal supervision skills are essential to support the team and to continue with the individual team members and the services on-going develop

The post holder needs to be able communicate effectively with colleagues, referrers into the service, clients, their family or carers to ensure we are acting on accurate information. The role requires a high level of decision making and clinical reasoning skills to make safe decisions on service provision.

This post is a permanent full time (37 hours) and band 11 (Starting salary £49,429.00)
