Based at Wincomblee Road, Walker - These roles are based in a reactive, fast-paced office environment and will be required to cover a front-line reception on a rota basis to provide support to customers, whose first language may not always be English, with their queries, appointments, and payments in relation to their applications.

Other related tasks include:
• Inputting all licensing application details onto Tascomi (electronic system for logging and recording all licence information).
• Processing licensing applications by means of a daily Schedule for approval and the issue of Licenses relating to taxi drivers and vehicles - Hackney Carriage and Private Hire, Fleet and Drivers, including Renewals.
• Producing the taxi licence badge for drivers inc. licence plate and door crests for vehicles as well as producing the decals (window identifications).
• Co-ordinating the booking of MOT Schedule tests, including arranging and logging tests.

The role also involves dealing with all administrative tasks relating to the following Ancillary Licence functions – Street Trading, Marriage premises, Scrap metal, Distribution of Free Literature, Face to Face and Charity Collections.

The successful candidate should have excellent customer service and telephone skills, with the ability to handle and deal with, at times, difficult and challenging situations both face to face and on the telephone, and the ability to work during busy times on reception. They will need to have excellent computer skills, have excellent organisational and communications skills with the ability to multi-task, process tasks accurately to tight deadlines and deal with changing priorities within statutory deadlines.

Previous experience of a Licensing environment would be advantageous but full training will be given.

Based at the Civic Centre – This role is based in a busy, reactive, cross-working office environment primarily processing and updating Alcohol and Entertainment Licences, including Licences relating to Gambling, Temporary Event Notices, Pavement Cafes, Events on Council Land etc. The role also involves providing general support across the Public Safety and Regulation Division, such as taking and recording accurate information, checking and updating electronic systems and passing information on to internal and external customers. The successful candidate should have excellent customer service and telephone skills, with the ability to handle and deal with a variety of service requests and queries.

They should also have excellent ICT skills and the ability to multi-task and deal with and respond to changing priorities within statutory deadlines. Previous experience of a Licensing environment would be advantageous but full training will be given.
