Fixed Term Contract for 2 Years

South Tyneside Council are recruiting an enthusiastic Service Desk Officer to join our Digital and ICT Service.

The position is well suited to an individual looking to begin their career in IT Support and gain knowledge and hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace. We also welcome applications from experienced Service Desk Analysts and from people with experience of 1st Line Support. The D&ICT Service is committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career progression.

You will work on the ICT Service Desk as part of the Service Delivery Team, providing 1st Line Support and your duties will include:

• Fault Logging, troubleshooting and resolution for a range of systems including M365;
• Processing requests for ICT equipment and services;
• Mobile device configuration.

You will be:
• Dedicated to providing good customer service;
• Enthusiastic about technology;
• Willing to learn and develop your knowledge, skills and experience.

You will have:
• Good verbal and written communication skills;
• A professional and friendly disposition;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and M365 products;
• A basic understanding of PC hardware;
• A good approach to documentation.

A degree in an ICT subject or other relevant ICT qualifications are desirable, but not essential.
