Newcastle City Council would like to recruit a Social Care Assessment Officer to work in the mental health social work team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has experience of supporting adults with mental illness and has a desire to support adults towards their recovery goals. The role will be broad and will include direct work supporting adults, and conducting assessments, reviews and support plans under the Care Act.
You will need to provide support to AMHPs undertaking mental health act assessments on a rota basis, which will include some evening working. You will also have a key role in building links with community resources to support individuals to connect to their own communities.
Recent experience in an adult social work team environment is desirable for this post. You will work as part of an experienced, friendly and supportive team. Supervision and appraisal will be provided by one of the Social Work Team Managers.
