Can you work in a fast-paced environment as part of a high performing team? This is an exciting opportunity to take on an interesting and varied role.

You will be the first point of contact for the Human Resources and Organisational Development Support Services Team, signposting managers to HR Policies and Procedures and providing advice and guidance where appropriate. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the HR Governance processes, liaising with Managers and Elected Members.

You will support with reviewing and implementing HR policies, developing and delivering training to managers and working on key projects to support the team such as absence management.

Your office base will be the Town Hall, South Shields but we believe that work is what you do, not where you do it; we support hybrid working from home as well as working in other locations in the Borough as necessary to meet the needs of the employee and the Council. We also offer flexible working hours which means that, subject to the needs of the service and agreement with your line manager, you can work outside of normal office hours.
