About the Role: Supporting the Practice and Safeguarding Service Manager with the ongoing review and strategic development of our Adult Safeguarding Service within South Tyneside, whilst providing inspirational leadership to the safeguarding team.
You will manage a specific portfolio which includes ensuring that local safeguarding arrangements are in place, safeguarding practice is person-centred and outcome-focused, working collaboratively to prevent abuse and neglect where possible, ensuring agencies and individuals give timely and proportionate responses when abuse or neglect have occurred and ensuring safeguarding practice is continuously improving and enhancing the quality of life of adults in South Tyneside.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to demonstrate operational and strategic leadership.
Key duties include:
• Leading the Safeguarding Adults Service.
• Overseeing the strategic development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Ensuring there are systems in place to monitor and ensure that the work of adult social care is being delivered safely and is of good quality.
• Lead on appropriate safeguarding partnership work, with organisations from the independent, private, NHS, statutory and voluntary sectors, ensuring that the Council’s statutory lead agency responsibilities are discharged appropriately.
About You: As an experienced and registered practitioner, you will want to work in a setting that believes that people are at their healthiest and happiest when they are supported to remain independent, close to the people they love and who love them, in the neighbourhoods and communities they call home.
You will demonstrate a collaborative and facilitative style of leadership, which ensures you engage, coach, mentor, motivate and inspire your team to become high performing, ensuring the service provided is effective and responsive to the needs of the population.
Driven by research, innovation and the desire to develop best practice, you must demonstrate an applied knowledge of Adult Social Care and Safeguarding legislation.
