We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated manager to join our residential services, as manager of our short break home for children with disabilities. These posts are integral to our children’s homes which provide high quality care and support to children and young people with complex needs and disabilities.

To succeed as the Manager for our short break home you must have an excellent understanding of the needs of children, young people with disabilities and their families and be committed to making a lasting difference to their lives, enabling children to remain at home with their families.

You will be a confident and creative person whose mentoring and leadership skills will enable the young people you are caring for to have positive experiences, grow, develop and thrive. You will understand the impact of complex needs such as learning disabilities and autism and be able to lead and support your staff team to work positively and effectively at times dealing with verbal and physical aggression using a trauma informed approach. You will be experienced at building a resilient and successful staff team through reflective supervision and skilful leadership, ensuring the safety of children, staff. This is a busy role so outstanding organisational skills, an eye for high quality case recording and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals including social workers, and CAMHS services are all essential.

The post requires experience of working in residential care and a recognised social work qualification or a qualification equivalent to the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. As Manager you will be required to register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager of a short break children’s home and will be responsible for ensuring that the home is ready for inspection at all times. You may also be required to cover shifts including occasional sleep ins.
