Fixed Term for 1 year.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term post for 1 year, to lead the development of new systems and processes for home to school travel for children in care and children accessing short breaks at Bedeburn.
We have secured transformation funding to enable us to pilot an approach within children’s social care modelling the processes and systems already being used for home to school transport for children with SEND.
This is a challenging role in the current economic climate where previous reliance on taxis needs to be rethought to enable us to meet our duties to ensure that children get to school ready to learn and enjoy their learning.
We need a dynamic, creative thinker who can approach problems positively, developing novel and creative solutions to lead on the development and embedding of an approach that will meet the needs of children and their carers and reduce the pressure on social workers.
The role will involve the development of systems and processes, using systems such as Capita and Q routes to map routes and commission the right transport and taxis to meet the needs of children and carers.
Successful candidates will have experience of working with children and young people and with foster carers and will understand some of the constraints on travel to school for children in care. You will be able to establish relationships quickly, and work effectively as part of a team, towards agreed aims and objectives to enable children to arrive at school refreshed and ready to learn.
