Northumberland County Council operates a huge range of services across one of the largest counties in the UK. Local Government’s ongoing challenges and the diversity of our residents means we have to work smarter. That’s why we want bold, creative and agile thinkers who can help us move forward and innovate.

We are looking to recruit two passionate and dedicated senior managers, one to lead our residential and family placement services and one to lead our social work teams and services across two of our localities

You will join a committed and well-established senior management team reporting to our Heads of Service. Our leadership pledge (please see LINK) demonstrates our child centred, and relationship-based approach and we have effectively implemented and continue to embed the Signs of Safety practice framework across our services. Our social care services are rated as Good by Ofsted and all our children's homes are rated as good or outstanding.

Our residential and family placement services include our in-house residential provision which we are currently expanding, our fostering recruitment and support, services, our Kinship assessment and support team (KAST) and a dedicated adoption team of child permanence workers.

If you would like to find out more about this post, please contact Graham Reiter Service Director, Children’s Services and Interim DCS for Northumberland or Mary Connor Head of Service via Abi Ridley at abigail.ridley@northumberland.gov.uk.

Our social work services cover both urban and rural localities under this post and the teams work with children in need, child protection and children who are looked after
