2023 brings exciting changes and transformation to our 0-25 Family Help and Adolescent Services in South Tyneside. This specialist role is aligned to the government’s 10-year drug strategy From Harm to Hope, as well as local and national family policy reform. We are keen to bring the very best practitioner to this position who will champion and deliver our bold ambitions for children, young people and families.

Providing a leadership approach and a culture that supports South Tyneside’s vision and values, the post will ensure the operational delivery of service required by the national drug treatment monitoring systems and functions identified in the Office for Health Improvements and Disparities for drug and alcohol treatment.

The postholder will ensure the service provides evidence-led interventions that keep children, young people safe and central to the process by providing trauma informed holistic approaches. Managing a highly motivated and skilled team that keeps pace with current trends and future strategic changes in the field of drug and alcohol. Working in collaboration with partners to ensure the delivery of high quality multi-disciplinary care planned interventions and transitions that improve the life chances of children, young people and families.

We are seeking applicants who will bring a can-do approach, with a positive energy and strengths based aspirational outlook for children, young people and families. A sound understanding of young people’s substance misuse and safeguarding is required. Postholders will bring experience of managing multi-agency teams with good knowledge of treatment systems.
