(Epinay School)

Fixed Term post for 15 months

Required for September 2023

We have recently moved to a new, state of the art site in South Shields and the Governors and Head Teacher of Epinay Business & Enterprise School would like to appoint 2 Teaching Assistant Apprentices to work towards a Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualification. As part of the role, you will be required to attend inset training days and twilight sessions.

Training will fully prepare the successful candidates for a career in supporting teaching and learning. Successful candidates will work throughout the school alongside experienced professionals. You will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to the role and should make a positive contribution to the progress of our pupils.

You will need to demonstrate you have good communication skills, confidence and that you are able to take the initiative. You will be reliable, hard working and approachable. You will need to complete all tasks and assignments in a timely manner, so an ability to organise your time efficiently will be essential.

Applicants will have the energy and vision to ensure our pupils are happy, confident, independent learners who are prepared for adulthood. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic person to join a thriving school.

South Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.

In line with the guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education, schools may carry out an online search as part of their due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
