This is an exciting time to join the Art Team at Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums, to work on the newly acquired archive and collection of Nerys Johnson (1942–2001), an artist and curator active in the North East of England throughout the late twentieth century.
We are currently seeking an Assistant Keeper of Art to work with our Keeper of Art and a Collaborative Doctoral Award student (Northumbria University) to provide curatorial support for the cataloguing and storage of this important collection. The post will be based at the Laing Art Gallery and the post holder will have the opportunity to engage with the wider activity of the gallery, including assisting with the planning and development of exhibitions and displays.
We are seeking an enthusiastic curator, with proven organisational and collections management skills, who will thrive in a busy working environment. This is an ideal opportunity to develop skills to become an experienced, flexible and multi-skilled art curator.
