Temporary Maternity leave cover until April 2024

Required from September 2023

Boldon School is an attractive proposition for staff and students, with our school roll growing rapidly we are very near to 100% capacity. We are a Good school (Ofsted 2019). Boldon School is an exciting place to teach and inspire. Staff play meaningful roles in equipping our students with the skills that will help them achieve here at Boldon and, ultimately, in their lives beyond school.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to join our Humanities faculty. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those that are just coming into teaching. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven professional to join our school in a temporary capacity to cover Maternity Leave. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the History curriculum is essential. The post will be until at least April 2024 but due to the rapid growth of the faculty and high number of students which study history this post may be extended further. ECT applicants will be welcomed.

You will:

• be an outstanding teacher of History and willing to participate in further development
• have a passion for teaching History and have the potential to inspire students with a wide range of teaching and learning strategies
• gain commitment from all students to achieve success, and have the ability to motivate students with a focus on maximising student attainment
• take part and organise events and extracurricular provision

If you think you are up to the challenge ahead and would like to share in our exciting and vibrant school, we want to hear from you.

Boldon School and South Tyneside Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.
