Required for September 2023

We are delighted to be offering an incredible opportunity to join Ridgeway Primary Academy in one of the most important roles in school – our Early Years Lead. You will be able to support, nurture and develop children’s learning, setting in place the foundations for them to build successful lives in our community. This is a great responsibility and a great privilege, and you will join a Senior Leadership Team committed to supporting each other to make our children’s education the very best it can be.

Ridgeway is a popular, inclusive 2-form entry primary school with 450 on role, including a 65-place attached Nursery, at the heart of a vibrant and supportive community. Our children make excellent progress in their Early Years, supported by a wide range of professionals who bring energy and a determination to work with parents and carers for their children’s best outcomes. Our school motto is, ‘Proud, Unique, Ambitious’: we recognise the different strengths of our children and we help them to unlock their potential – and children and staff alike are proud of that achievement.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, driven, energetic and creative EYFS Leader to work as part of a supportive and committed Senior Leadership Team. Whilst you may not have been an Early Years leader before, you will have had successful experience of leading people and curriculum, alongside successful teaching experience in the Early Years. This position is not suitable for an ECT.

The successful candidate will:
• Have a passion for the Early Years Foundation Stage and for providing the very best start for all children.
• Lead by example.
• Inspire and support colleagues.
• Have excellent communication and organization skills – this role includes leading and managing three classes, including your own, as well as establishing and maintaining good relationships with our parents/carers.
• Work closely with the EYFS team to play an integral part in developing and embedding our unique Early Years Curriculum.
• Have experience in assessing child development and planning activities to support their on-going attainment and growth.
• Have proven leadership skills in order to take a lead role in initiatives which contribute to whole school improvement.

We can offer:
• An amazing staff team to work with.
• A supportive and dynamic leadership team.
• Weekly leadership release time, in addition to PPA.
• Commitment to your continued professional development and support to undertake NPQs (or similar).
• Wonderful, friendly, enthusiastic and well-behaved children.
• Supportive and committed governors and trust colleagues.
