South Tyneside Council are excited to announce the newly developed Inclusion Service within the organisation. The Inclusion Service will provide high quality guidance and training to promote inclusive practice for all settings and provide support to develop and implement whole school approaches to inclusion.

As part of this service, your role will be to support schools and staff on teaching and learning strategies to ensure they can support individual children with social, emotional and mental health needs. This role will involve supporting schools with the use of the SEND Ranges, working in partnership with the setting and other agencies and services to ensure the best outcomes for children as well as monitoring the impact of additional support given.

This is an exciting opportunity to engage with children and staff in settings and provide appropriate advice to meet children’s needs, whilst promoting inclusive practice.

In South Tyneside we want all children and young people with SEND to be included in their educational setting and community, where they have education support tailored to their unique learning needs so that they all learn, grow and achieve.

We encourage applications from individuals with experience and understanding of meeting social, emotional and mental health needs, with a drive to deliver real outcomes to children within South Tyneside.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Andy Ritchie, Service Manager – Access & Inclusion on (0191) 424 6311 or via email at Andy.Ritchie@southtyneside.gov.uk
