We have excellent civil engineering and transport planning expertise across the Transport division and are committed to delivering resilient, customer focused and high quality services.

The Role

What will I be doing?
The position itself will include, but is not limited to: -
• Managing the delivery of traffic management projects across the city
• Analysing and interpreting complex information to solve a range of engineering problems
• Communicating effectively with a wide range of audiences
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with staff with key stakeholders and partners
• Design and options development primarily for road safety, walking cycling and public transport improvements.
• Preparation of relevant general arrangement engineering plans, specifications, and designs
• Ensuring that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of work
• Undertaking site surveys, analysing data and writing reports
• Meeting our commissioners needs at a highly developed level

What will I need?
Our ideal candidate will have:-
• Advanced knowledge in planning, consulting, and introducing highway schemes
• Advanced understanding of engineering concepts and principles involved in Traffic Management & Road Safety
• Have proven ability to analyse and interpret complex information to solve difficult engineering problems.
• Ability to meet commissioner needs at a highly developed level.
• An open and collaborative style and track record of partnership working
• Advanced knowledge of CDM Regulations, including risk assessments and Health and Safety plans
• Ability to supervise or manage staff on an occasional basis
• Have excellent ICT skills including practical experience in utilising standard industry software
