As a Geospatial Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our geospatial team, working on diverse projects that have a direct impact on the local community. You will collaborate with talented professionals to design and implement geospatial solutions, focusing on route optimisation, emergency planning, and other critical aspects of local gov. Your expertise and enthusiasm for innovation will drive the development of new solutions that improve efficiency and enhance decision-making processes.

· Software: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, Postgres, SQL server, Python.
· Working within the wider Information Services team of 100+ IT professionals.
· County Hall, Morpeth - Hybrid Working.
· This is a Permanent contract at Band 8 salary range between £35,411- £39,493.

Requirements:
· Degree level or equivalent.
· Professional qualification in Geospatial Data Science, Data Visualisation, Data Science, Data Engineering or other relevant discipline.
· Detailed knowledge of Geospatial Information systems and understanding of their operation.
· Actively undertaking ongoing continuous professional and personal development.

Main duties:
Specialising within the ArcGIS Online platform here are the main duties:

1) System Administration: Perform administrative tasks within the ArcGIS Online environment, such as user management, security settings, and data backups. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensuring data availability and reliability.

2) Data Management: Responsible for organising and structuring geospatial data in ArcGIS Online. Creating and maintaining organisational standards from naming conventions to data formats with specific aims, managing attribute data, and ensuring data integrity.

3) Implementing Data Pipelines: Developing and configuring data pipelines to connect to operational systems within ArcGIS Online. This involves designing efficient workflows to automate data transfer, integrating real-time or batch data updates, and managing data synchronisation between different systems. This involves understanding data schemas, data warehouse and an eye for data quality and ensuring data integrity during the transfer process.

4) Optimisation: Continuously optimising data processes and workflows to ensure optimal performance. This includes analysing data performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks or areas for improvement, and implementing enhancements to maximise data processing speed, storage utilisation, and overall system performance.
