The Northumberland County Council Economy and Regeneration service has a brand new role for a Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Employability and Communities Lead at a critical time for development of a more Inclusive Economy in Northumberland and across the North East.

The role responds to new opportunities in the context of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, North of Tyne Employability Plan, Employment Partnerships and Inclusive Economy ambitions to support delivery of Northumberland priorities of Economic Growth and Addressing Inequalities. Working as part of the Employability and Inclusion team, the role will work directly with organisations serving communities in Northumberland, understanding their needs in delivering services to increase economic activity and social wellbeing, and develop more inclusive local economies.

An initial task will be to establish an Inclusive Economy Community Partnership of stakeholders and manage the Communities and Place element of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The role will provide a key point of contact between the Council's Economy and Regeneration service and the VCS.

The role is offered to March 2025 initially and will be reviewed for extension.

The successful candidate will be offered:
· A starting salary of £35,411 - £39,493 (Band 8) depending on experience

Candidates will have an excellent understanding of engaging with communities and VCS infrastructures and significant experience of partnership working and collaboration. Excellent project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills are essential
