Do you understand the challenges facing local business? Do you want to help small businesses and entrepreneurs develop and grow?
 
We are recruiting an Economic Development Officer to join the Economic Development Team at Newcastle City Council to help make a difference to our local business community. Your time will be spent delivering across various business support programmes, such as our Business & IP Centre North East; our Place Innovation Programme; and our Business Energy Efficiency Team.
 
You will work closely with colleagues within the Council, external funders, key stakeholders, businesses, sector representatives and members of the community. You will support or directly deliver individual projects, ensuring that priorities are set, conflicts are resolved, and resources are focused on the projects that will deliver strategic objectives. You will have an excellent understanding of the wider business support landscape, and be able to apply this knowledge when interacting with our business community; by either face-to-face, email, or wider communications.
 
Collaborative working will be crucial, and you will be expected to think creatively and strategically to deliver outcomes.
 
You will have experience of delivering initiatives to help promote economic growth and an excellent understanding of the needs of our business communities and how the public sector can support.
