We are looking to recruit a high performer and highly motivated Brokerage Manager / Contracts & Commissioning Officer to join the busy Contracts and Commissioning team in Adult Social Care.

You will be responsible for sourcing care packages to meet assessed health and social care needs for adults across Northumberland ensuring they feel safe, healthy, happy, and independent. Along with arranging, monitoring, and reviewing the contracting arrangements for these care services in Northumberland.  

You will use your experience and skills to organise, manage and develop the Brokerage Service within the Contracts and Commissioning Team. You will manage a range of Brokerage, data gathering/analysis and information systems which will help inform commissioning decisions and support the Brokerage and Contracting function. You will ensure that Brokerage and related tasks/procedures are followed at all times. 

You will have experience in the field of brokerage, contracting and commissioning, quality monitoring and/or service reviews and be able to gather, analyse and present complex data and information from a range of sources. You will have an ability to prioritise your own work, taking into account both team and organisational requirements and be able to negotiate and resolve complex problems. In addition, the ability to manage change well is a necessity.  

You will work with key partners, including Providers, Care Management, Safeguarding, Care Quality Commission, Health Commissioners and Healthwatch to promote good quality service provision and ensure quality compliance. The ability to build effective working relationships quickly is essential to this role. 

We require a good team player who is enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable with a high level of communication skills (both written and verbal). This is an extremely supportive, collaborative team where effective communication is essential, commitment to providing a quality service is expected and new ideas for improvements are welcomed.  

This is a full time; fixed term position until March 2025 and we are offering a starting salary of £37,336 (Band 8). The office base is County Hall in Morpeth, and there are also opportunities to work agile.
