Collingwood School & Media Arts College is a community special school that caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of special educational needs. The school offers a specialised learning environment to support the additional requirements of our students.

We require a Forest School / outdoor learning HLTA Band 4 as soon as possible. This is a permanent position as part of the further development of outdoor learning within the school.

Your role will be outdoors the vast majority of the day. You will be planning and leading sessions and ensuring that you plan for children’s individual curiosities, liaising with the classroom teams about the children’s learning and development; observing the children and giving feedback to the classroom teams, and contributing to review paperwork etc.

You will organise small Forest School sessions in accordance with established policies and procedures. Whilst supervising the children, you will establish routines and boundaries to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the children, ensuring that any safeguarding concerns are dealt with immediately following the School’s safeguarding procedures. Candidates should have a HLTA qualification or be prepared to undertake the necessary training. You must hold a Forest School Leader Level 3 Qualification (or similar).

Duties to include;
• Day to day organisation and delivery of Forest school lessons
• In conjunction with the Outdoor learning lead to develop and plan the offer for pupils
These duties are additional to the standard job description/job spec.
