Collingwood School & Media Arts College is a community special school that caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of special educational needs. The school offers a specialised learning environment to support the additional requirements of our students.

The Governors of the school are seeking a highly skilled and motivated higher level teaching assistant to work with our SEND team to ensure high quality SEND provision is implemented across the school.

The role requires specialist skills and knowledge of working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.

You must be:
• Resilient, empathetic and consistent in approach
• Flexible, pro-active, supportive and enthusiastic
• Have the skills and commitment to improve outcomes for all pupils in our school
• Able to work effectively within our SEND team
• Able to communicate effectively with parents/carers

Duties to include:
• Supporting pupils daily with SEND needs
• Deliver intervention work with individual pupils and groups of pupils
• Support with the administration of EHCP and IEP paperwork, alongside Pupil Support Officer and SEND team, with attention to detail • Leading Annual Reviews as directed by Director of SEND and Assistant SENCo
• Support with transition processes alongside Director of SEND and Assistant SENCo, both into and out of Collingwood
• Parental contact and support These duties are additional to the standard TA job description/job spec.
