An exciting opportunity has arisen for two suitably experienced Workshop Fitters to join the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council Fleet and Vehicle Workshop team, based at Central Depot in Dormanstown.

As one of the successful candidates, you will work as part of a team of fitters inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of fleet vehicles and plant equipment as well as responding to vehicle breakdowns and supporting an on-call out of hours response.

With significant experience of vehicle maintenance and a good knowledge of health and safety at work, you will have the IMI Level 2 Motor Vehicle Repair or equivalent, City & Guilds Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Repair or equivalent and MOT class 4,5,7 tester status or working towards this qualification.

The council are looking to appoint an individual who can work under pressure and be flexible in their approach by responding to the needs of the service including at times requirements to work beyond normal working hours. This may involve evening and weekend work as appropriate.
