A skilled, dynamic and visionary leader who is a qualified teacher of the deaf/visually impaired is required to manage our well established hard working peripatetic team.
The successful candidate must be an experienced and accomplished practitioner, who holds the mandatory. This post holder needs high level interpersonal skills in order to work with children, families, mainstream and special schools including a range of other professionals. The post holder must be able to manage the work of both the VI and HI teams, have an understanding and awareness of issues both common and special to the individual disability is required. The Sensory Team Leader needs to play a leading role in the collection and recording of outcome data reporting regularly to the Lead officer for vulnerable groups, other local authority personnel and voluntary sector representatives.
Candidates must be committed to continuing professional development. Applications are welcome from experienced specialist teachers in the area of sensory impairment.
