A full time post has become vacant in Fleet Management, Communities and Environment, based in Park Road Depot. The role will include inspecting, repairing and servicing vehicles ranging from cars to heavy goods vehicles and their ancillary equipment. Applicants will be very familiar with operating such vehicles as well as performing recovery operations and light welding work. Post qualification experience in maintaining and repairing a range of vehicles found in local authority operations would be advantageous.
An appropriate City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent and a full current driving licence is required as are effective oral and written communication skills.
Candidates with Forklift licence and/or HGV licence and current DCPC would be desirable. Knowledge of local authority vehicle maintenance procedures would also be desirable.
There is a two shift system:
07:30 - 16:00 x 3 weeks
12:00 - 20:00 x 1 week
