A middle school in rural Northumberland is currently looking to appoint an English Teacher on a full time basis. The role will commence in April 2017 and will end in July 2017, . You will be an experienced English Teacher with a thorough understanding of the curriculum at Key Stages 2 and 3. You will be familiar with current initiatives and will take responsibility for monitoring and supporting the teaching and learning of English throughout the school.

This is a small and welcoming school with a caring environment which has recently been through a period of significant improvement. Senior leaders work very well together and lead the school very effectively, an extensive range of learning opportunities are available promoting a good standard of teaching across the school. Students’ behaviour is excellent with everyone treated as individuals and encouraged to succeed in different ways.

The successful candidate should:

  • be an outstanding practitioner with the ability and drive to accelerate progress and raise achievement
  • have excellent classroom management and behaviour for learning skills
  • be proficient in planning, assessment and target setting so that all children make good or better progress
  • deliver a dynamic and stimulating learning environment to engage all pupils
  • have recent experience / knowledge of teaching English within the UK National Curriculum
  • hold a relevant teaching qualification and QTS.
