Special Support Assistant, this post is 1 year fixed term to cover maternity, term time only over 195 days, 37 hours per week.

John Spence is a popular and successful school, serving students from the North Shields area of North Tyneside.

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, hardworking professional to join our highly effective Special Support Assistant team. The successful candidate may have experience of working with children in the 11-16 age range but this is not essential. They will have high expectations when supporting teaching and learning throughout the school. NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent is essential however, degree level qualification is desirable.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team based within the Inclusion Department, working with students who exhibit the full range of Special Educational Needs. The successful candidate will work across a range of subject areas, and will have an allocation of cover supervision.
