Christ Church C of E Primary School
Shieldfield Green
Newcastle upon Tyne

37 hours per week, term time only plus 3 additional training days
Required February 2019

Christ Church is a caring school with a strong Christian ethos. The governors are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, creative and hard-working higher level teaching assistant (HLTA) who will make a significant contribution to pupil progress and the school’s curriculum. The person appointed will be committed to inclusion and the celebration of diversity.

The role will involve both whole class PPA cover and providing classroom support. It will involve assisting in the support and inclusion of pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities and/or English as an additional language, and responding to their academic, social, emotional and physical needs.

Daily before school supervision (8.00am) and running of after-school clubs (3.15-5.00pm), including coaching and managing the school football team, is essential too.

Applications are especially welcome from practising Christians and those sympathetic to the Christian ethos.

The school is strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to obtain an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the DBS and a range of other recruitment checks.
