Gateshead Council learningSkills are looking to recruit a Construction Employability Officer to deliver, develop and promote apprenticeships, traineeships and programmes of study to young people from across the Borough of Gateshead.
The Youth Education and Skills team work with young people developing their skills to support them into employment, including apprenticeships. learningSkills is an Ofsted rated Good provider. March 2016.
It is essential that you have knowledge of delivering learning programmes to young people in a construction setting, including carrying out initial and diagnostic assessments a level 3 construction qualification in a trade.
You will have up to date knowledge of current teaching, learning and assessment practices as well as a commitment to anti discriminatory practices.
As well as holding a full level 4 teaching qualification, you must have relevant teaching experience developing and delivering construction and employability programmes using a range of educational frameworks, including application of the Ofsted Common Inspection framework to your teaching, learning and assessment practice.
You will have experience of relating to young people in a range of settings and good planning and administrative skills to successfully deliver learning programmes. As you will be working in outreach locations it is essential that you are able to act on your own initiative as well as working effectively within a team.
A current full driving licence and access to a car or means to mobility support is essential.
