Post title: Locality Group Teacher – part time 0.6 fte

We are seeking a permanent, experienced, KS4 qualified teacher to join the Education Health Needs Team as Locality Group Teacher for sick, ill and injured children and others requiring education support. We need someone who can confidently teach GCSE Biology. The ability to teach Chemistry and/or Physics and Maths would be welcome.

The post holder will work across the county in a peripatetic role delivering education to pupils with an identified health need which inhibits their ability to attend school. Currently, we deliver in; the University Hospital classroom; GAP provision; at two units for school-aged mothers and various, small group teaching bases across the county. We are seeking to expand the number of locations for small group teaching.

The small group provision is delivered in a variety of locations across the county over the course of the academic year with changing cohorts of pupils. The role entails delivering KS3/4 programmes. Re-integration to school is the aim of all interventions. Home visits and meetings at pupils’ base schools may also form a part of this role. It is envisaged you will initially be mainly based at one specific location.

Required qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status and Science Degree.
