The education provision is based within a secure children’s home in Northumberland. The service provides accommodation for 12 young people who are supported by a highly trained, dedicated team of social care managers, staff and teachers including healthcare practitioners.

As we strengthen our core support team we are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant. We are looking for an individual who can advance pupils’ learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with individual pupils or groups and whole classes where the assigned teacher is not present. In liaison with the class teacher, activities will involve planning, preparing and delivering lessons as well as monitoring pupils, assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.
You will need to be highly motivated to the care and outcomes for young people, have experience of working with children to support their learning and ideally will have HLTA status (or be willing to complete within an agreed timescale).
