North Tyneside Council is seeking to recruit Health Visitors to work within the 0-19 Children’s Public Health Service. The service is based in four locality based integrated teams across the borough.

The 0-19 Children’s Public Health Service has been integrated into the Council since April 2017 and a CQC inspection in March 2018 recognised areas of outstanding practice and highlighted that;

“The service prioritised vulnerable children and families appropriately. Managers and staff were acknowledged as having high levels of integrity, driving continuous improvement and held themselves accountable for delivering change.”

In October 2018 the service was reaccredited with UNICEF Level 3 Baby Friendly Initiative.

Post holders will support the provision of universal access to the Healthy Child Programme and early identification of additional and/or complex needs of children and young people.

Close working relationships with early help service, children’s services, multiagency safeguarding hub, housing, sport and leisure, primary care and schools ensures good outcomes for families and provides positive working relationships for staff.

The essential requirements of the post are:

• 1st level registration, Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health
Visitor or School Nurse)
• the ability to meet the travel requirements of the post

Access to the NHS pension scheme will be available.
