Durham County Council is currently embarking on an exciting new journey of transformation. We have recently launched a number of new projects which will help deliver excellent customer service and create a flexible, driven workforce.

From the building of a new, modern HQ in the city centre, to innovative technological solutions and the redevelopment of Aykley Heads, Durham County Council is inspiring growth and progress.

The Council is seeking an experienced commercial property solicitor to join its Property Planning and Procurement team. The successful candidate will be involved in working with the Council’s Commercialisation team in the assessment and implementation of commercial projects across the county. The post holder will join others engaged in providing the legal support to this challenging area of work.

Candidates should be a qualified Solicitor with current Practicing Certificate or qualified Barrister and have a background of experience in property work with a strong emphasis on commercial transactions.
