Approved Premises (Residential) work with men who are involved at varying stages in the criminal justice system. Applicants should have the ability to work within a team which aims to effectively manage and support people safely in the community. Residential experience is not essential.

Along with the skills required, this worker needs to be enthusiastic, imaginative, motivated, resilient and committed to working in a very challenging residential environment. Additionally they need to be able to express the value base required to both work within an ethos of rehabilitating offenders and the values of the SVP.

Essential aspects of this post include a major role in risk assessment and management of offenders and sustaining an environment which supports the rehabilitative nature of our work. In order to do this you will have a pivotal role in developing the staff team in line with both the philosophy and skills needed in order to sustain a high performing environment.

A professional social work qualification (CQSW/DipSW) or Diploma in Probation Studies is required.
